Petrobangla hopes to complete drilling a total of 48 wells in different gas fields by 2025

According to Bangladesh’s Financial Express, Petrobangla hopes to complete the drilling of a total of 48 wells in different gas fields by 2025 to increase the supply of natural gas to Bangladesh by 618 million British thermal units (MMCFD). Of the 48 planned wells, 23 will be drilled using Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration and Production Company Limited (Bapex) drilling rigs, while the remaining 25 will be outsourced by Bapex contractors. Currently, Bangladesh has a total of 29 gas fields, 20 of which produce 1,600 to 1,900 MMCFD of natural gas. At the same time, 1,000 MMCFD of natural gas is imported to meet Bangladesh's national demand.
